- 10,000 BC – 1875 AD
Pre-Contact to Treaty 7
Our region is Blackfoot territory since time immemorial. Over the centuries it also becomes home to the Tsuut'ina Nation, the Iyarhe Nakoda Nations, and the Métis.
- 1910 – 1934
Settlers and incorporations
European settlers arrived in the region around 1910 and incorporated as Forest Lawn on July 4, 1934. In 1935 we amalgamated with Albert Park.
- December 1961
Annexed by the City of Calgary
Over the years our population swelled, attracting both residents and industries, and Forest Lawn became part of the City of Calgary.

The FLCA is established
To support the interests of our residents and community members, the Forest Lawn Community Association was established.

Land acknowledgement
Forest Lawn is located on the traditional territories of the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprising the Siksika, Piikani and Kainai First Nations), the Tsuut'ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including the Chiniki, Bearspaw and Wesley First Nations). The City of Calgary is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III.
